Give your pears a different spin by baking them in the oven!
Recipe adapted from SkinnyTaste.com.
To add extra protein and get your dairy serving, try eating the baked pears with regular or Greek yogurt. And don’t forget, nuts are a great source of healthful monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, so you can mix-and-match different kinds to match your taste buds.
2 large ripe pears
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoon honey
1/4 cup crushed walnuts
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Cut the pears in half and place on a baking sheet (try cutting a sliver off the other end so they sat upright).
2. Using a measuring spoon or melon baller, scoop out the seeds.
3. Sprinkle with cinnamon, top with walnuts and drizzle 1/2 teaspoon honey over each one.
4. Bake in the oven 30 minutes. Remove, let cool and enjoy!
